New Member Welcome Committee
Charge
The HathiTrust New Member Welcome Committee will be a standing committee of library staff from current member institutions, charged with connecting with member representatives and primary contacts at newly joined HathiTrust member institutions. The purpose of the committee is to provide information and advice on how to use and promote HathiTrust member services. The committee will also be responsible for advising the Member Relations Specialist on what materials and actions that would be helpful to achieve the group’s objective.
Responsibilities
- Attend a virtual kickoff meeting at the start of the term
- Advise Member Relations Specialist on materials or processes to facilitate a productive orientation for new members via asynchronous methods
- At least one committee member will be asked attend each new member orientation hosted by Member Relations Specialist (1-2 meetings per year)
- Serve as a resource for new members. May include additional meetings and/or email exchanges with member reps and primary contacts
Membership
The New Member Welcome Committee will have three to five members drawn from the HathiTrust membership. The committee’s membership may include designated member representatives, primary contacts, AULs or department heads.
Members are appointed for two year terms with possibility of renewal.
The Member Relations Specialist will chair the group and be responsible for planning and organizing meetings.
