Partnering for Preservation: Recent Webinars on Shared Print
March 19, 2025
HathiTrust’s collaboration with shared print program leaders on strategies and practices is key to preserving print content across North America and beyond. Rooted in the mission of preservation, access, and collection stewardship, the HathiTrust Shared Print Program (HTSPP) preserves print and digital collections by linking them. The program already encompasses 76% of the HathiTrust digital monograph collection, all of which are committed to a 25-year retention period.
As a founding member of the CCH Shared Print Collaboration with California Digitial Library (CDL) and Center for Research Libraries (CRL), HathiTrust continues to advance the future of shared print and its ever-evolving systems, tools, actions, and relationships.
HathiTrust Collections Strategist Heather Weltin recently coordinated a series of CCH mini-summits focused on sustainability in shared print.

HathiTrust’s ongoing work with dozens of shared print programs fosters a shared understanding of how to align collective strategies with meaningful action. These partnerships help identify common challenges and potential solutions in the preservation of and access to the scholarly record, which are integral to HathiTrust’s mission, past accomplishments, and future strategic directions.
