Welcome to Erin Russell, Senior Project Manager

We are pleased to announce that Erin Russell recently joined HathiTrust as Senior Project Manager. 

In this inaugural role for the organization, Erin will improve our organization’s project planning, execution, and governance as part of the new team at HathiTrust focused on business analysis and operational excellence. Initial funding for the position is provided by the Building Resilience for Access and Preservation grant from the Mellon Foundation, a multi-year effort to strengthen HathiTrust’s preservation and access mission. 

Erin comes to us with a rich background in IT services and software development, as well as archives and cultural heritage management. Her professional tenure includes project and product management positions at both national and international information technology services companies. Her doctoral work in U.S. History at American University explores the history of archives and recordkeeping.

Erin will guide the development of common and sustainable project management practices and techniques, and work with HathiTrust colleagues to integrate these practices into our ongoing work and organizational culture. In addition to supporting colleagues, she will lead complex projects through the entire project life cycle, coordinating with HathiTrust staff and external stakeholders including committees and working groups, members, and users.
